Lublin Eco-Energy Cluster involves entities in the field of renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro and geothermal) as well as production and use of biomass for energy purposes. Among Cluster partners are eg.: producers of machinery and equipment (presses, granulators, crushers, mills, gear associated with the production of briquettes and pellets, biomass boilers, solar collectors) and producers of pellets and briquettes. The partners are also designers and contractors of biogas plants, wind farms, solar farms, small hydropower plants and electricity networks. Another group of entities are engaged in the waste management industry, IT solutions for the renewable energy industry, higher education and research as well as energy efficiency and energy-saving construction.
The coordinator of the Cluster is Foundation for Lubelskie Development. Lublin Eco-Energy Cluster mission is to support all activities related to sustainable use of renewable energy sources on the basis of Lubelskie Voivodship potential through the development and implementation of technological innovations, production and process and to popularize renewable energy sources in the region.
The main strategic objectives pursued by the Cluster include: • increasing the share of energy produced from renewable energy sources in total energy balance of the Lubelskie Voivodship, especially by micro-energy entities;
• taking measures to ensure the energy security of Lublin municipalities based on local energy resources, particularly renewable energy sources;
• supporting development and promotion of local measures aimed at increasing share of production of electricity and heat from renewable energy sources;
• stimulate the development of new technologies and the development of analytical and research facilities in the region for the needs of development of renewable energy sector and energy-efficient construction;
• supporting staff training system for the sector of renewable energy sources and energy-efficient construction.
As part of the Lublin Eco-Energy Cluster we have set two consortia: Lublin Energy-Efficient House (LEEH) and Lublin Energy Agency (LEA). The aim of the LEEH is successful development and dissemination of key product of Cluster: ecological energy-efficient house. The consortium was founded on February 11, 2015 as a result of cooperation between entrepreneurs, scientific research units, business environment institutions, universities and local government units – Partners derived from Lublin Eco-Energy Cluster. Ecological energy-efficient house technology offered by the Consortium solves 5 key issues of buildings: use of water, use of energy, use of raw materials, emissions and undesirable substances, including greenhouse gases and generation of waste. The total cost of the building counted in its 30-year life cycle is three times lower than traditional building (including the costs of construction and operation). The cost of electricity and heat supplied during the year the building is only 100 euros. Information on the consortium LDEE can be found at the website www.ldee.pl .
Lublin Energy Agency (LEA) was established to support local governments and entrepreneurs from Lubelskie Voivodship in the organization and implementation of projects aimed at improving energy efficiency and energy production from renewable sources. Agency identifies and promotes good practices related to the implementation of projects using renewable energy sources to produce electricity and heat as well as activities to improve energy efficiency by local governments and entrepreneurs. It also carries out activities aimed at raising awareness of the region’s residents about the benefits of technologies of renewable energy production and energy saving electricity and heat. Information on the consortium LEA can be found at the website www.lae.org.pl .
